Dr. David Anthony Sarkar is a Consultant Cardiologist with over 30 years of experience in general and interventional cardiology. He has performed over 5,000 diagnostic coronary angiograms and graft studies, including arterial conduits, and more than 2,000 percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), such as angioplasty, pressure wire studies, rotablation, shockwave therapy, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), and optical coherence tomography (OCT). He also performs pacemaker and implantable loop recorder (ILR) insertions.
Dr. Sarkar is actively involved in medical education, serving as the head of undergraduate clinical cardiology teaching for Plymouth University Peninsula School of Medicine and as the postgraduate Training Programme Director for cardiology in the Peninsula Deanery. He is also a member of the Royal College of Physicians Specialty Advisory Committee and the British Cardiovascular Intervention Society (BCIS) Training and Education Group.
He practices at several locations, including Peninsula Heart Clinic at Derriford Hospital, Plymouth, and Nuffield Health Plymouth Hospital. Consultation fees are approximately £235 for a first consultation and £135 for follow-up appointments. Remote consultations are also available.
