Experience

Dr. Emma Madams began her healthcare career by completing a Nursing Degree in 2003 and worked at Tamworth Base Hospital the following year. Inspired by her colleagues and motivated by a desire to expand her medical expertise, Dr. Madams relocated to Newcastle, where she undertook her Medical Degree, graduating in 2014.

After completing her medical degree, Dr. Madams began her GP training and has gained valuable experience working in Far North Queensland, including Cairns and the Torres Strait Islands. Her time in the Torres Strait Islands provided her with unique insights into Indigenous health, which has become one of her major areas of focus.

Dr. Madams is passionate about chronic disease management, women's health, and children's health, and she is dedicated to providing holistic care to individuals and families. With over 10 years of experience in healthcare, including her 5 years as a General Practitioner, Dr. Madams enjoys working with rural and remote communities, particularly in the areas of Indigenous health.

Dr. Madams now works in Tamworth, where she provides general practice services with a focus on preventative health and family medicine. She also has a special interest in chronic disease management, particularly in patients with diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
