Dr. Karen Avory completed her undergraduate training at the University of Nottingham in England, graduating with a MBBS degree. She completed her GP training in Manchester, where she worked as a GP in both Manchester and London. During her time in the UK, Dr. Avory pursued additional diplomas in women’s health, family planning, and paediatrics.
In 2011, Dr. Avory moved to Australia, where she began working in Perth, WA, and later completed a diploma in women’s health at King Edward Memorial Hospital and a certificate in family planning with the Family Planning Association of Western Australia.
She has worked as a GP in various locations throughout her career, and in July 2023, Dr. Avory returned to Sydney after spending a few years in Queensland with her family. She has a passion for all aspects of general practice, with special interests in women’s health, paediatrics, and chronic disease management. Additionally, Dr. Avory is keenly interested in lifestyle challenges and mental health.
Dr. Avory is also highly experienced in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical students, having shared her knowledge and expertise through various educational programs.
