Dr Karen Woods

Dr. Karen Woods is a compassionate General Practitioner with over 13 years of experience since completing her MBBS degree at the University of Adelaide in 2010. Dr. Woods grew up in the small town of Tallangatta within the Albury-Wodonga region, and after completing her medical degree, she spent 10 years in North Queensland where she obtained her Fellowship in General Practice (FRACGP).

In 2019, Dr. Woods took time to travel around Australia in a caravan, gaining diverse experiences and perspectives on healthcare across the country. Now, with a young family, Dr. Woods has resettled in the Albury-Wodonga region to continue practicing general medicine and offering personalized healthcare to local families.

Dr. Woods enjoys the diversity of general practice and has a special interest in family medicine, rural healthcare, and preventative health. She is passionate about providing holistic care, particularly in rural settings, and is committed to ensuring her patients receive comprehensive, long-term healthcare.

Dr. Woods has contributed to clinical research in the field of general practice and rural healthcare. She has a particular interest in the impact of early intervention and preventative measures in chronic disease management and maternal health. Her research also includes rural health education and ways to improve healthcare access in underserved regions.
