Dr. C. Sivathasan is a well-known Cardiothoracic Surgeon at The Heart Lung & Vascular Centre in Mount Alvernia Hospital, Singapore.
He was instrumental in setting up several major programs in Singapore such as the Mechanical Heart Assist and the heart-lung transplant program at National Heart Centre Singapore. He has been active in initiating Mechanical Cardiac Support Programs in numerous countries through various training workshops.
Dr. Sivathasan’s special interests are aortic aneurysm, aortic valve replacement, chest and lung surgery, coronary bypass surgery, LVAD, heart failure surgery, mitral valve repair/replacement, and repair of pectus excavation and carinatum and vascular surgery.
After completing his MBBS, he pursued his post-graduate surgical training in the U.K. followed by attaining fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
He has been honored with prestigious awards and recognitions including the National Outstanding Clinical Award by the Ministry of Health in 2011 and the Healthcare Humanity Award, presented by the President of Singapore in 2010.
