Dr Louise Rigney

Dr. Louise Rigney is a highly skilled Australian-trained neurologist with extensive experience in treating a wide variety of neurological conditions. She obtained her MBBS from the University of Newcastle and completed specialist training in Neurology at St Vincent’s Hospital (Sydney) and Liverpool Hospital. Dr. Rigney furthered her expertise by completing a Fellowship in Neuromuscular Medicine and Neuroimmunology training at Concord Hospital.

With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Rigney has worked at Campbelltown Hospital, where she headed the Neurophysiology Department, in addition to her private practice at Neurology New South Wales in Roseville and North Sydney. She is also appointed as a Senior Lecturer at Western Sydney University, where she contributes to the education and training of future medical professionals.

Dr. Rigney’s clinical practice focuses on a holistic approach to neurology, where she treats patients with conditions like headaches, stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, neuropathy, Parkinson’s disease, motor neuron disease, dementia, memory issues, and pregnancy-related neurological conditions. She is dedicated to treating patients aged 16 years and over, using advanced treatment methods including injection therapy for migraines, hyperhidrosis, and spasticity.

Dr. Rigney has been actively involved in clinical research related to neurology, focusing on neuromuscular diseases and neuroimmunology. Her research contributions include improving the understanding and management of neurological conditions like multiple sclerosis, motor neuron disease, and dementia. She continues to engage in clinical research, aiming to enhance diagnostic techniques and treatment options for patients with neurological disorders.
