Dr. Meredith Williams has over 22 years of experience as a General Practitioner, graduating with her MBBS from the University of Newcastle in 1998. She completed her general practice training on the far north coast of New South Wales and undertook extended skills training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. After attaining her GP Fellowship in 2005, she expanded her expertise by completing further training in the management of HIV and Hepatitis C and became registered to prescribe opiate substitution treatment.
Since 2011, Dr. Williams has been consulting at East Sydney Doctors, focusing on providing holistic care. Her interests include medical acupuncture, mental health, sexual health, and addiction medicine. She completed a Graduate Certificate of Medical Acupuncture at Monash University in 2010, and she is passionate about incorporating acupuncture into her practice, particularly for pain management.
Dr. Williams also works at a multidisciplinary public clinic in Kings Cross, focusing on drug and alcohol issues, sexual health, and youth healthcare, where she gains valuable insight into the complex social issues facing marginalized populations.
