Dr Michael Van Der Watt is renowned and patient-oriented consultant cardiologist with over 20 years of experience, who specialises in palpitations, syncope and angina alongside heart murmur, heart failure and pacemaker treatments. He privately practices at Spire Bushey Hospital while his NHS base is West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, where he is the medical director at Watford General Hospital. 

Dr Van Der Watt is highly qualified with varying experience in different areas of medicine. He specialised in internal medicine in South Africa and then moved to the UK in 1995 to move into in the cardiology specialty. Furthermore, he is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
