Dr Nisha Prabaharan

Dr. Nisha Prabaharan completed her medical degree at UNSW in 2012, then gained essential hospital-based experience at Bankstown and Campbelltown Hospitals, serving communities across Sydney’s southwest. After earning her Diploma of Child Health and FRACGP Fellowship in 2017, she joined Walker Street Doctors in North Sydney. Known for her gentleness and empathy, Dr. Prabaharan provides personalised care in women’s health, paediatric wellness, menopause, and preventive medicine. She also served as Chair of RACGP NSW’s New Fellows Committee, guiding the professional development of early-career general practitioners.

Dr. Nisha Prabaharan has consistently applied a research-informed mindset throughout her medical career, particularly in women’s health, paediatrics, and preventive medicine. During her postgraduate training and while completing the Diploma of Child Health at the University of Sydney, she participated in supervised clinical audits focusing on developmental screening practices and early childhood immunisation rates in general practice. These experiences helped shape her commitment to evidence-based, community-focused care.

Dr. Nisha Prabaharan holds dual degrees in Medical Science and Medicine from UNSW. Following hospital training in Sydney’s western suburbs and specialist child health credentials, she became a Fellow of the RACGP in 2017. Since then, she has practised as a warm and trusted GP at Walker Street Doctors, focusing on woman-centred care, menopause management, early childhood health, and family planning. Her leadership in the RACGP NSW New Fellows Committee reflects her ongoing commitment to supporting junior doctors and embedding evidence-based practice in primary care.
