Dr. Philip Read is a highly experienced Consultant Cardiologist with expertise in interventional cardiology, particularly in coronary angioplasty and stenting. He practices at Royal Papworth Hospital and Ipswich Hospital. With over 20 years of clinical experience, Dr. Read specializes in a wide range of cardiology services, including complex coronary interventions, cardiac imaging, and the management of heart failure and arrhythmias.
Dr. Read completed his MBBS and MA at the University of Cambridge, followed by a PhD in cardiology. He has contributed significantly to research in the field of cardioprotection and coronary ischaemia. He has authored over 30 research publications and is actively involved in medical education and research. His clinical interests also include heart valve disease, syncope, and hypertension management.
