Dr Sanjiv Petkar is a highly respected consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist based in Wolverhampton, practising at Nuffield Health Wolverhampton Hospital. His areas of expertise include the assessment and treatment of palpitations, arrhythmias, syncope, cardiac ablation, as well as the implantation of a variety of devices (e.g. pacemakers, defibrillators, cardiac resynchronisation therapy and implantable loop recorders). Known for his compassionate and thorough approach, he provides cutting-edge care for patients with both slow and fast heart rhythms, and those living with heart failure.

Dr Petkar is the Lead of Electrophysiology and Devices at New Cross Hospital, where he established and leads the electrophysiology and ablation service. A passionate advocate for cardiac rhythm management, he has also played a central role in developing national and local TLOC (transient loss of consciousness) pathways and founded the Rapid Access Blackouts Triage Clinic in Manchester. His practice encompasses a wide range of ablation procedures, including those for atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, and ventricular tachycardia, alongside the implantation of complex cardiac devices.
