Dr. Thushani Amarasena is a dedicated General Practitioner with over 8 years of experience since completing her MBBS degree at the University of Colombo in 2010. After completing her studies, Dr. Amarasena moved to Australia and undertook further training, earning an Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics and completing her General Practice training in Wodonga.

Dr. Amarasena joined Albury Wodonga Health in 2015, where she developed a passion for women’s health and pregnancy care. She has extensive experience in providing comprehensive care throughout the pregnancy journey, from pre-conception to postpartum care.

Her professional focus is on holistic family medicine, ensuring that every patient, particularly families with young children, receives compassionate and personalized care. Dr. Amarasena also provides ongoing support and education to new mothers and families, helping them navigate the challenges of parenthood.

Dr. Amarasena has made rural healthcare a central part of her career and enjoys offering care to patients in regional areas, where she focuses on preventative health and early interventions to improve maternal and child health.
