Publications & Bibliography

Dr. Tiffany Patterson is a Consultant Cardiologist specializing in interventional and structural cardiology, with nearly two decades of experience. She graduated with MBBS (Hons) and BMedSci (Hons) from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine in 2005 and attained Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2009. Her training in Interventional Cardiology has taken place at some of London’s most prestigious institutions, including St Mary’s, Hammersmith, Royal Brompton, King’s College, and St Thomas’ Hospitals. In 2014, Dr. Patterson was awarded a British Heart Foundation Clinical Research Training Fellowship, supporting her pursuit of a PhD in Cardiovascular Physiology at King’s College London, which she completed in 2017. Following this, she received a Clinical Study Grant from the British Heart Foundation to lead the ARREST Trial, a multicentre randomised control trial exploring the pre-hospital management of patients following cardiac arrest. Dr. Patterson’s research portfolio spans out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, the application of machine learning for determining fractional flow reserve (FFR) during invasive coronary angiography, and the mechanisms of TAVI (Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation) thrombosis. Her recent investigations into TAVI thrombosis are driven by innovative collaborations with the world-leading Haematology and Thrombosis department at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital and biomedical engineers at King’s College London. This work has been further supported by an early researchers grant from the BMA Foundation for Medical Research.
