Dr Wendy Simpson

Dr. Wendy Simpson is a seasoned General Practitioner with over 22 years of experience in the medical field. After earning her Bachelor of Medicine from the University of Newcastle in 2002, she completed her GP Fellowship training in 2008 while practicing at Market Street Medical Practice in Wollongong. Dr. Simpson then spent 8 years in Armidale, Northern Tablelands, where she provided care in regional general practice settings. She has now returned to her hometown of Wollongong, where she continues to serve patients across all age groups.

Her areas of focus include women’s health, child and adolescent health, antenatal care, contraception, mental health, and chronic disease management. Dr. Simpson is also skilled in skin biopsies and minor surgical procedures, ensuring patients receive timely diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Wendy Simpson’s clinical research interests focus on women’s health, mental health in general practice, and chronic disease prevention and management. During her time in regional New South Wales, she actively participated in practice-based quality improvement initiatives, contributing to projects aimed at enhancing continuity of care for patients with complex medical needs.

Her role in these collaborative efforts included evaluating outcomes in antenatal care, contraceptive access in rural settings, and improving early intervention strategies for mental health. Dr. Simpson has also been involved in the development and implementation of patient education programs, particularly in the areas of adolescent health and preventive care.
