Dr. Alma Jackman

Dr. Alma Jackman is a Sarajevo-trained physician who has built more than a decade of experience in holistic family medicine. After her MBBS in Bosnia, she moved to Australia and earned her Fellowship in 2013, followed by certification in family planning and sexual health. Since settling in Sydney, she has practiced at Sydney Road Family Medical Practice, becoming a trusted provider in women’s health, paediatrics, and mental wellness. Known for her warmth, cultural sensitivity, and fluency in multiple languages, she builds strong, long-term relationships with her patients.

Dr. Alma Jackman has been actively involved in clinical quality improvement initiatives throughout her medical career. During her early years in Australia, she contributed to clinic-based audits focused on preventive care measures such as cervical screening rates, childhood immunisations, and early intervention for mental health in primary care.

Her work often centers on integrating updated evidence-based guidelines into everyday general practice, ensuring her patients receive the most current and effective care. In addition, she has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate mental health support pathways in general practice, particularly for culturally diverse and multilingual communities — a reflection of her ability to bridge clinical care with patient-specific needs. While she has not authored peer-reviewed publications, her involvement in applied clinical research has directly improved patient outcomes within her practice setting.

She further enhanced her qualifications with an Australian Medical Council certification and specialized training in family planning and sexual health. Fluent in English, Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian, she practices at Sydney Road Family Medical Practice, where she focuses on women’s health, pediatric wellness, mental health support, and preventative medicine. Dr. Jackman integrates patient education and culturally sensitive care into her practice, contributing to internal guideline development and community health initiatives.
