Dr. Bryan C. Doonan was born in New Jersey, and raised in Los Angeles. He studied at the University of California San Diego where he received a Bachelors degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and Minor in Economics. He then received a full scholarship to St. Louis University School of Medicine to obtain his medical degree. After graduating from medical school Dr. Doonan moved to Newport Beach to begin his internship and residency at the University of California, Irvine. Inspired by his younger years of surfing and skateboarding, Dr. Doonan then started his fellowship in sports medicine at Kramer Orthopedic Group in Newport Beach. At Kramer Orthopedics he learned first hand from some of the best Orthopedic Surgeons in Southern California.Dr. Doonan opened the Urgent Care at Newport Center doors in 2008, setting out to have the highest quantity family medicine practice, convenient to everyone, and open 7 days a week. Each one of his staff members is hand picked and personally trained to ensure superior care. He also currently holds a position as Consulting Physician for the Association of Surf Professionals and works as the Medical Director for the Vans US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach. Being an active person, mainly in surfing and snowboarding, he has a first hand understanding of injuries and the need to return to a high level of activity. In his 10 years of practicing medicine, Dr. Doonan has provided comprehensive care to his patients in the community, to local high schools, athletic clubs and as Medical Director of Vanguard University.
