Dr. Luís Lima is an accomplished Sports Medicine Specialist and Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine expert with over 10 years of professional experience. He works as a Senior Consultant Cardiologist at the University Hospital Santa Maria in Lisbon, Portugal, and serves as an Associate Professor of Cardiology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon.
He is also the Head of the Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging Unit, which includes leading the CMR and Echocardiography Units at University Hospital Santa Maria. In addition, Dr. Lima holds a significant position as the Vice-chair of the Cardiovascular Centre at Lisbon University and has been an influential member of the European Society of Cardiology since 2007.
Dr. Lima has extensive experience in treating professional athletes and sports teams, serving as the Team Doctor for numerous football teams, including in the Portuguese First and Second Leagues, Qatar Premier League, and Portuguese Beach Soccer Team (which won multiple national and international titles).
He also specializes in ultrasound-guided interventions, performing viscosupplementation, regenerative treatments, nerve blocks, and medical acupuncture for pain relief and injury rehabilitation.
