Dr. Nejat Akalan

Dr. Nejat Akalan is a highly experienced neurosurgeon with more than 31 years of expertise in the field. After completing his MD at Istanbul University, he specialized in neurosurgery, receiving his training in the field at Istanbul Medical Faculty and becoming a recognized specialist in 1993.

Dr. Akalan has extensive experience in general neurosurgery, particularly in treating complex brain tumors such as gliomas, epilepsy surgery in both adults and children, and movement disorders like Parkinson's disease. His work extends to trauma surgery for skull injuries and treatment of spinal conditions like tumors, spine herniations, and other neurological disorders. Dr. Akalan is particularly known for his work in pediatric epilepsy surgery, where he has treated numerous children suffering from difficult-to-control seizures, achieving significant improvements in their quality of life.
