Experience

Dr. Pafilio Tangitau has 20 years of experience in Emergency Medicine. After completing his medical degree at the University of Auckland in 2000, Dr. Tangitau specialized in Emergency Medicine in 2005. Since then, he has worked in various emergency care settings in both New Zealand and Tonga, providing life-saving care and critical interventions for patients in trauma and emergency situations.

He has extensive experience in managing trauma cases, cardiac arrests, stroke care, acute abdominal emergencies, and pediatric emergencies. Dr. Tangitau has worked at Vaiola Hospital, where he heads the Emergency Department and oversees the treatment of trauma patients, including motor vehicle accidents, burns, and medical emergencies.

Dr. Tangitau is also actively involved in emergency care training and education, mentoring emergency medical staff and preparing first responders to handle emergency medical situations effectively.
