Dr. Peter Levins is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has been practicing in Arizona since 2000. He is our newest member at Tatum Highlands Medical Associates. He is originally from Southern California, where he graduated high school and then attended Loyola Marymount University. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from LMU, before attending the Medical College of Wisconsin for his formal medical training. It was during medical school that he developed his appreciation for Family Medicine. The Medical College of Wisconsin provided varied experiences that served as the catalyst to pursue Family Medicine as his specialty. After graduating medical school, Dr. Levins relocated to Phoenix with his wife and two sons, to complete his Family Medicine residency. He began his residency at Phoenix Baptist Hospital in 1997, where he then served as Chief Resident prior to completing his residency in 2000. Upon graduation, he practiced in the west valley as a member of Union Hills Family Medicine before moving to Scottsdale, for a practice opportunity in 2001. He spent the past 12 years as a member of a large group practice in south Scottsdale. There he provided full spectrum Family Medicine to his patients in both the outpatient clinic and in-patient hospital setting. In addition to his group practice, Dr. Levins has spent the last 10 years as an instructor and community faculty member for the Scottsdale Healthcare Family Medicine Residency. In this role, Dr. Levins has supervised the Family Practice residents as they provided hospital care to the residents of south Scottsdale. He is also affiliated with the University of Arizona Medical School where he serves as a faculty member through the Physician Doctoring Program.
