Dr. Polat Dursun

Dr. Polat Dursun is a highly experienced gynecologist and obstetrician with over 20 years of expertise in his field. He graduated from Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine in 2000 and completed his specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine between 2000-2004.

Dr. Dursun has expertise in a wide range of gynecological and obstetric services, including pregnancy diagnosis and follow-up, normal birth and cesarean sections, and the management of HPV and pap smear abnormalities. His specialization extends to gynecological oncology, with particular experience in the treatment of uterine cancer and cervical cancer.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Dursun is the founder and a representative of Turkey in the European Network of Gynecological Oncology (ENYGO). He has also trained under Dr. Eric LeBlanc, a pioneer in laparoscopic lymphadenectomy and radical hysterectomy, at the Center Oscar Lambret Cancer Center in Lille, France. Dr. Dursun’s focus on minimally invasive surgery and oncological treatments has made him a sought-after specialist in his field.

Dr. Dursun has contributed significantly to the field of gynecological oncology, publishing 83 international articles indexed in PubMed and Science Citation Index. His research mainly focuses on HPV treatment, cervical cancer, and the minimally invasive treatment of uterine cancer. He has also researched colposcopy techniques and myoma treatment options.

Dr. Dursun has presented his research at 100 international congresses and has contributed to advancements in cancer diagnostics, early detection, and innovative surgical techniques in gynecological oncology.

One of his most notable works, "Minimally Invasive Approaches to Cervical Cancer Surgery: Current Perspectives and Future Directions," was published in the European Journal of Gynecological Oncology (2018). This paper explored the use of laparoscopic surgery and robotic surgery in treating cervical cancer and highlighted the benefits of these techniques in reducing recovery time and complications.

Dr. Dursun has also co-authored studies on HPV-related diseases and the effectiveness of early screening methods for cervical cancer. His research continues to influence current practices in gynecological oncology and minimally invasive surgery.
