I am Dr. Qaisar Mahmood Sheikh, a Nephrologist with over 30 years of experience in kidney diseases and dialysis treatments. I graduated from King Edward Medical College in 1989 and completed my house job at Mayo Hospital, Lahore in 1990. I was selected by PPSC as a Medical Officer and served in DHQ Hospital and BHU’s in Gujranwala, where I performed the first Peritoneal Dialysis in 1991. Later, I joined Allama Iqbal Memorial Trust Hospital, Gujranwala as MS and Head of the first Hemodialysis Unit in the region. In 1993, I moved to Al-Noor Specialist Hospital, Makkah as Registrar Nephrology, and in 1997, I became the Medical Director of a charity-based Hemodialysis Centre in Makkah for five years. I returned to Pakistan in 2002, where I joined Allama Iqbal Memorial Trust Hospital, Gujranwala, as Head of Nephrology, continuing my commitment to providing high-quality renal care.
