Dr. Remzi Saglam

Dr. Remzi Saglam is a highly experienced urologist with over 42 years of practice in the field. He graduated from Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, Istanbul University in 1970, followed by his specialization in urology at the GATA Urology Clinic, where he became a Urology Specialist in June 1977.

Dr. Saglam's extensive experience covers various advanced urological techniques and treatments, including laser treatments for kidney stones, robot-assisted surgeries, and neurogenic bladder management. He has a particular expertise in endourology, prostate surgery using laser, and ureterorenoscopic procedures. He has significantly contributed to the advancement of urological surgery and innovative treatments, establishing himself as one of the leading experts in his field.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Saglam has held prominent leadership roles in the medical community. He is the General Manager and Chairman of the Board of Directors at his institution and a founding member and former chairman of the Endourology Association. He has also served as the editor of the Journal of Endourology, further demonstrating his contributions to the field of urology.

Dr. Saglam has contributed significantly to urological research, with a focus on endourology and laser treatments. His research has led to advances in procedures such as HoLEP (Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate), laser-assisted kidney stone removal, and robot-assisted surgeries. He has attended numerous international and national conferences, sharing his findings and presenting his research on the latest developments in urology and endourology.

With 63 scientific publications and 60 papers, Dr. Saglam’s work has made a lasting impact on urological practices, particularly in laser treatments and minimally invasive surgeries.

This paper discusses the role of robotic-assisted laser treatments in improving patient outcomes in kidney stone surgeries.

Additionally, Dr. Saglam has co-authored several research papers on the management of prostate diseases and neurogenic bladder, with studies published in journals such as European Urology and Urology Clinics of North America.
