Dr. Meisami is a Board certified Family Practicioner who joined Newport Family Medicine in 2007. She is a Southern California native who was born in Long Beach, CA at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and was raised in Cerritos, CA. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Science from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she stayed to pursue her Medical Degree at the UCLA School of Medicine. During medical school, she served as President of the Family Medicine Interest Group to help further her knowledge of the field as well as her colleagues. In addition, she received five Letters of Distinction awards during her third year clinical rotations in medical school in Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Psychiatry and Surgery. She graduated from medical school completing both an M.D. degree as well as a Thesis in Primary Care, specifically in Womenâ€™s Health. Dr. Meisami completed her residency training in Family Medicine at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center. She served as Chief Resident of Gynecology in her final year. As a Family Practitioner, she is well-trained to treat patients of all ages, from newborns to adults to the elderly. She takes pride in the patient-doctor relationship and does her best to advocate for her patients. Her interests include Womenâ€™s Health, Pediatrics and Preventative Medicine. She is an active member of the American Academy of Family Practice since 2000 as well as the California Academy of Family Practice and American Medical Womenâ€™s Association. Dr. Meisami is fluent in Farsi and has basic fluency in Spanish.
