Dr. Ufuk Demirkilic

Dr. Ufuk Demirkilic is an esteemed cardiac surgeon with 35+ years of experience in the field of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. He graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy, Military Medical Faculty in 1985 and later specialized in cardiovascular surgery at the GATA Cardiovascular Surgery Department. He became a specialist in cardiovascular surgery in 1993.

Dr. Demirkilic has extensive expertise in a wide array of cardiac surgeries, with a particular interest in blood electrolyte tests, mitral valve procedures, and aorta aneurysm surgeries. He is well-versed in performing thoracotomy and percutaneous mitral balloon valvuloplasty for patients with mitral insufficiency. His specialization also includes dialysis surgery and the treatment of fibrous tumors.

Dr. Demirkilic is a recognized leader in his field and holds memberships with prestigious organizations such as the Turkish Society of Cardiology, the Turkish Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, and the International Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons (ISCTS). He is also the Turkish translation editor for the European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery and serves on the advisory board of the Asian Annals of Thoracic & Cardiovascular Surgery.

Dr. Demirkilic has contributed extensively to research in the areas of cardiac surgery and vascular health. His work focuses on improving mitral valve treatments, surgical techniques for aortic aneurysms, and advancements in dialysis surgery. He has authored nearly 60 international publications, and his research continues to shape the practice of cardiovascular surgery both in Turkey and internationally.

His research also spans electrolyte management in cardiac surgery, valve repair and replacement techniques, and minimally invasive heart surgeries, helping to improve patient recovery rates and surgical outcomes.
