John Deelun Somauroo was a leading consultant cardiologist and sports cardiology expert in the UK. He was affiliated with the Countess of Chester Hospital and Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, and served as a professor at Liverpool John Moores University. His clinical expertise focused on inherited cardiac conditions, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and athletic heart syndrome.
John Somauroo was also the club cardiologist for Liverpool Football Club and worked with several other professional football clubs. He played a pivotal role in establishing cardiac screening programs for athletes in the UK and internationally, including in Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, and Egypt.
