Dr. Jonker Garland has conducted extensive research on epilepsy, particularly in the areas of advanced treatments for drug-resistant epilepsy and the development of new surgical techniques for patients with intractable seizures. Dr. Jonker Garland completed his MD at McGill University in 2000 and went on to specialize in neurology, with a focus on epilepsy. After completing his training, he began his career at Lethbridge Regional Hospital before becoming an expert in epilepsy management at the Southern Alberta Epilepsy Clinic. Dr. Garland’s expertise has been recognized both regionally and internationally. He has contributed extensively to the understanding of epilepsy, particularly focusing on treatment-resistant epilepsy, and his work has shaped the way the medical community approaches care for such patients. He continues to lead clinical trials and teach upcoming neurologists in his field.
