 Mark O'Neill is a distinguished consultant cardiologist who specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of complex cardiac arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillationventricular tachycardia, and supraventricular tachycardia.

O'Neill successfully completed a DPhil in Cardiac Physiology at the University of Oxford as a rhodes scholar in 1995 before notably going on to graduate (MB BCh) with first-class honours from University College Dublin in 1998. He would then continue his education by completing his subspecialty training in interventional cardiac electrophysiology at St Mary’s Hospital, as well as at the internationally renowned arrhythmia centre in Bordeaux. Impressively, Professor O'Neill was awarded a National Bronze Clinical Excellence award in 2016 and 2021 in recognition of the quality of both his clinical and academic work.

In addition to his clinical practice, Professor O'Neill is actively involved in medical education and research, serving as a mentor and educator for medical students, residents, and fellows. He has published numerous research articles and book chapters on topics related to cardiac electrophysiology and arrhythmia management, contributing to the advancement of knowledge in the field.
