Mr Francesc Malagelada is a leading consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon based in London. He treats foot and ankle disorders, specialising in sports injuries, fractures, arthritis, joint replacements and bunions. He provides trusted non-surgical and surgical treatments that best suit each patient and their lifestyle. When appropriate, he performs arthroscopy (keyhole) or minimally-invasive surgery using the latest techniques that provide faster recovery and almost unnoticeable scars.
After having qualified from the University of Barcelona medical school in 2005, Mr Malagelada undertook his trauma and orthopaedics training in Spain and the UK at some of the most prestigious institutions including the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital and The Royal London Hospital.
Mr Malagelada later completed a British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society fellowship in Windsor. He was awarded the esteemed ESSKA-AFAS international fellowship aimed at young promising orthopaedic surgeons in the field of foot and ankle.
Since 2017 Mr Malagelada has been practising as a consultant at The Royal London Hospital, where he joined a team of world-renowned orthopaedic surgeons. He is an avid researcher and his work has been published in highly regarded international journals and textbooks. Mr Malagelada's research is primarily in the field of minimally-invasive surgery, which culminated in a PhD which was awarded the highest 'Cum Laude' distinction.
