Mr. Mark Gunning is a highly experienced Consultant Interventional Cardiologist based at Royal Stoke University Hospital (University Hospital of North Staffordshire), leading the catheter lab. Originally trained in Cape Town and active since 1988, he completed advanced cardiology training in leading London institutions. His practice focuses on challenging cardiovascular conditions such as complex coronary anatomy, calcification, combined cardiac-renal disease, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and aortic stenosis, with advanced skills in coronary angiography, TAVI, and septal ablation. Beyond clinical duties, he has held leadership roles within the British Cardiovascular Society and regional ethics committees Phin.
