Mr William Wilson is a leading consultant orthopaedic knee surgeon based in Glasgow. As a specialist, Mr Wilson is particularly noted for his proficiency in sports injuries, as well as meniscus, ACL reconstruction, knee arthritis, and partial and total knee replacement. He is dual qualified in both trauma and orthopaedics and sport and exercise medicine.

Mr Wilson consults privately at Ross Hall Hospital, Glasgow. With over 10 years’ experience, he also practises at NHS Ayrshire and Arran. Notably, he served as team doctor for the Irish Football Association from 2017 to 2023, including acting as head of medical during the UEFA European Championship Finals.

With a strong academic background, Mr Wilson originally qualified from the University of Glasgow, where he also obtained a BSc (MedSci) in Knee Anatomy. He completed his specialist training within the prestigious West of Scotland Deanery, before undertaking a period of formal research in 2018, working towards a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Strathclyde.

Furthermore, Mr Wilson accomplished dual fellowships: in knee surgery at OrthoSport Victoria, under the stewardship of Professor Feller, and in complex lower limb trauma at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, working under Mr Oppy, a leading advisor to the AO Trauma Group. Mr Wilson additionally holds a Diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine.
