Dr Amiya Kumar Sahu

Dr. Sahu has served in multiple capacities during his illustrious career. He was the Director of Public Health for Odisha (1995-2005) and previously served as a Senior Consultant at SCB Medical College and Hospital (1975-1995). Since his retirement, he has been actively involved in community health initiatives and mentoring young doctors.

Dr. Sahu has conducted extensive research in public health, focusing on rural healthcare delivery and epidemic management. He led a study on "Improving Access to Healthcare in Rural Odisha" (1998) and co-authored research on "Strategies for Controlling Vector-Borne Diseases in Eastern India" (2003). His work has been published in journals such as the Indian Journal of Public Health and the Journal of Community Medicine.

Dr. Sahu has received numerous accolades, including the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Indian Medical Association (2010) and the Excellence in Public Health Award by the Government of Odisha (2005).

Dr. Amiya Kumar Sahu has made remarkable contributions to medical literature, particularly in the fields of public health and community medicine. He authored the book *"Public Health Challenges in Rural India"* in 2006, which provides valuable insights into addressing healthcare disparities and improving access in underserved regions. Additionally, he co-authored *"Epidemic Management and Preparedness in India"* in 2003, offering strategies for controlling and managing infectious disease outbreaks effectively. His research articles, including *"Advancing Community Health Through Preventive Medicine"* and *"Innovative Approaches to Rural Healthcare Delivery,"* have been published in prominent journals such as the *Indian Journal of Public Health* and the *Journal of Community Medicine*.
