Dr Brian Halliday is a leading consultantcardiologist at Cleveland Clinic London Hospital. He is an expert in the management of cardiomyopathy, genetic causes of cardiovascular disease, heart failure and the prevention of cardiovascular disease. He has a particular interest in novel and emerging therapies for cardiomyopathy and heart failure. Part of his practice includes the screening and assessment of patients’ relatives to more precisely determine their risk of developing potentially inheritable causes of heart disease. He performs and interprets cardiac MRIs and is frequently asked to provide a second opinion on complex scans.
His NHS base is at Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals, recognised as one of the leading specialist heart and lung hospitals in Europe. He leads a research programme investigating new treatments and ways of improving the management of patients with cardiomyopathy at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London, where he is a Clinical Associate Professor and also holds a prestigious British Heart Foundation (BHF) fellowship. He has a particular interest in leading clinical trials investigating new treatment approaches. Several of his studies have informed international treatment guidelines in the field of cardiomyopathy and heart failure, including the TRED-HF trial, published in The Lancet.
