Experience

Dr. Gary Nicholls has been a highly regarded doctor for over 20 years. He completed his MBBS at Cambridge University and St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College in London, before gaining extensive experience working in busy teaching hospitals in London, Kent, Oxford, and the Channel Islands (Jersey).

Dr. Nicholls completed his Physician training while working in General Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Clinical Pharmacology, and Palliative Care in these major hospitals. Over the years, he developed expertise in community General Practice, and since relocating to Sydney in 2001, he has worked closely with St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst. Dr. Nicholls served as a Senior Registrar at St Vincent’s in various specialities, gaining valuable insight into the healthcare needs of diverse patient groups.

Dr. Nicholls’ work includes a strong focus on Homeless Health, Ambulatory Care, and Drug and Alcohol Medicine. He is passionate about ensuring patients access the right care and has worked tirelessly to improve communication and shared care between hospitals and GPs.

Dr. Nicholls joined Cooper Street Clinic in 2011, where he continues to work part-time. He also holds a position as Clinical Director in Primary Care / General Medicine for NSW Health, actively shaping the future of general practice in the state.
