Dr Hayley Charters

Dr Hayley Charters is a founding member of Karalta General Practice, having been part of the clinic since it opened in 1992. With over 33 years of medical experience since earning her MBBS from the University of Sydney, she has built long-term, trusting relationships with multiple generations of patients.

She has a broad scope of practice covering all aspects of family medicine, with particular expertise in women’s health, palliative care, and hypnotherapy. Dr Charters also provides regular services to aged care facilities and has hands-on experience in Aboriginal health through locum work in the Northern Territory. Her approachable manner, deep cultural understanding, and commitment to personalised care make her a trusted healthcare provider for diverse communities.

Dr Charters focuses on patient care, she has contributed to local health initiatives and continued professional development programs in women’s health, palliative care, and Aboriginal health. Her practical experience in rural and remote areas has informed her understanding of culturally safe care, which she integrates into her daily practice.
