Dr Ian Mann is a leading consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist with over 15 years' experience based in London and Sussex. He has a specialist interest in atrial fibrillation, and also specialises in several different aspects of cardiology, including palpitations, dizzy episodes, loss of consciousness, chest pain, hypertension, heart failure, valve disease, and general cardiology. He is also a specialist in the management and ablation for SVT (supraventricular tachycardia), atrial tachycardia/flutter, ventricular tachycardia/ectopy and implants simple and complex permanent pacemakers and defibrillators.
Dr Mann completed his PhD at Imperial College London, involving research into novel methods to map atrial fibrillation, with the aim of improving ablation techniques and procedure outcomes. He continues his research interests in atrial fibrillation at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, supervising academic research fellows to undertake research towards their PhD. Dr Mann has led clinical trials, and collaborates with other research groups both nationally and internationally. His research has been published in well recognised international journals. He is a high volume procedural operator, having undertaken well over 500 ablation procedures for atrial fibrillation alone.
