Dr Meena Arunachalam is a consultant dermatologist currently working for the NHS at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, London. Her clinical interests are dermoscopy (for the early detection of skin cancer), medical dermatology, vitiligo, mycology and skin surgery and her research interests are vitiligo and mycology.
Dr Arunachalam has a BA and an MD, and she has completed medical and dermatological specific training internationally; in the USA, UK (Oxford), Italy (Florence), and France. In Italy, she trained in mycology, medical dermatology, nail disorders and vitiligo. During her 1-year training in the UK, she was based at The Whittington Hospitals and Oxford hospitals.
Alongside her clinical expertise and education, Dr Arunachalam has published more than 50 articles in scientific journals utilising her expert knowledge. She has also presented her research on vitiligo in conferences internationally including at the American Academy of Dermatology Resident's Symposium and at the European Pigment Cell Conference.
