Dr Nikos Mardas is a respected and revered periodontology specialist based in London who specialises in treatment of periodontal disease, implant surgery, periodontal plastic surgery, periodontal regenerative surgery alongside peri-implantitis treatment.
Dr Mardas has an impressive educational background, qualifying in dentistry from the University of Athens in 1992. Following this, he completed a 3-year full time specialist training and an MS degree in Periodontology at the Royal Dental College at the University of Aarhus in Denmark. Furthermore, he was awarded a PhD from the same university in 2005.
As well as going into practice and becoming a leading name in periodontology treatment, Dr Mardas has gone on to develop an esteemed clinical research and academic career. He was a senior lecturer, honorary specialist and M.Clin.Dent program coordinator in Periodontology Unit at the Eastman Dental Institute at University College London, and in 2015, he was appointed Senior Clinical Lecturer and honorary Consultant at Barts and The London School of Dentistry at Queen Mary University of London. In 2019 he was promoted to the Clinical Reader (Associate Professor) role. Dr Mardas' clinical research has been published in more than 75 papers in peer-reviewed journals, while he is a regular reviewer and an editorial board member for many of these publications, which including the Clinical Oral Implants Research journal. He is also the author of several book chapters.
