She obtained her MBBS (Hons) from the University of Sydney in 2000 and later completed her Diploma in Child Health (DCH) in 2005. Dr. Abelev attained her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) in 2009, solidifying her position as a trusted and knowledgeable GP in the community.
