Mr Matthew Griffiths is a leading consultant cosmetic and reconstructive surgeon practising in Essex. He focuses principally on breast reconstruction, augmentation and reduction, as well abdominoplasty, labiaplasty and mummy makeover. He holds a subspecialty focus on breast reconstruction following cancer surgery, as well as comprehensive breast surgery.
 
Mr Griffiths undertook his medical studies at The Royal London, completing an intercalated BMedSci in 1995. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) in 1996 and subsequently spent five years in surgical rotations across London and Essex.
 
Additionally, Mr Griffiths dedicated two years to research at The Centre for Cutaneous Research at The Royal London, where he earned his Doctorate (MD). This achievement facilitated his entry into the PanThames Plastic Surgery Programme, a six-year rotation that included experience in hospitals throughout London and Essex, as well as visits to esteemed plastic surgeons in New York and Munich.
 
In his NHS role, he focuses on breast reconstruction after cancer, often employing microsurgical techniques to transfer tissue from the abdomen to the chest area. He also treats congenital breast issues, asymmetry, and macromastia (large breasts).
