Mr Nish Mehta is an extensively trained and skilled consultant ears, nose and throat (ENT) surgeon. He has a subspecialty interest in otology (the branch of medicine related to the ear) and auditory implants. He offers leading care for both adult and paediatric patients.

Among his areas of expertise are cochlear implants, hearing loss, cholesteatoma and ear infections. Patients regularly seek him out for his skill in implantation surgery, endoscopic ear surgery and local anaesthetic ear surgery.  In 2018, he achieved his Fellowship of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons (FRCS) qualification in otorhinolaryngology and head and neck surgery. 

Additionally, he contributes to his field through the education of future ENT specialists. He holds a joint appointment as an associate professor at the globally recognised University College London (UCL) ear institute, which is funded by the Deafness and Hearing Health Biomedical Research Centre. He also supervises PhD and MSc students in training at the UCL. What’s more, his proficiency and understanding of otology have led him to become chairman of the INTEGRATE (UK National ENT research trainee network) otology committee.

Mr Nish Mehta is also an avid researcher. His latest scientific medical research explores the use of artificial intelligence in hearing loss, with the goal to improve outcomes for cochlear implantation, sudden onset hearing loss and ototoxicity (drug-related hearing loss).
