Nikhil Tandon

Dr. Nikhil Tandon is a distinguished endocrinologist with over 30 years of experience in India's public healthcare system. He currently serves as the Professor and Head of the Department of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. His expertise encompasses a broad spectrum of endocrine disorders, with a particular focus on thyroid epidemiology, diabetes, and metabolic bone diseases

Dr. Tandon has an extensive research portfolio, having published over 600 articles with an h-index of 85. He was a founding investigator of the CARRS Cohort, a study on cardiometabolic risk factors in India. His work has led to the inclusion of their diabetes care model in India's National Programme for Non-Communicable Diseases. He has also been involved in large-scale epidemiological studies evaluating the prevalence of cardiometabolic risk factors and their associations in both children and adults.
