Professor Prasanna Sooriakumaran, known globally as Prof PS, was the first lead for urology at Cleveland Clinic London, the first UK urologist to become a full professor there, and performed the first urology and robotic surgical procedures at that hospital. He maintains a large NHS urology practice at University College London Hospitals and has moved his private practice to New Victoria Hospital. 

With over two decades of experience, he is a world leader in prostate cancer care, having pioneered techniques such as Retzius-sparing robotic prostatectomy. This innovative procedure has significantly reduced side effects for selected prostate cancer patients. Prof PS has received numerous prestigious awards, including over 30 accolades from international urology and cancer societies for his research and clinical innovations.

He completed his training at world-renowned institutions, including Cornell University in New York and the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm. Prof PS also undertook a Senior Fellowship at Oxford University, where he became the only urologist to be made Visiting Professor and awarded a Master of Arts degree by resolution. His expertise and contributions to the field have earned him recognition as one of the top 10 urologists in Britain, according to a poll conducted by the Daily Mail.

In addition to his clinical work, Professor Sooriakumaran is an world-leading researcher and educator. He is the lead surgeon in the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) panel on robotic soft-tissue surgery and regularly contributes to advancing the field through his extensive publications. He also holds membership in several professional organisations, including the British Medical Association and the European Association of Urology.
