Usha Sriram

Dr. Usha Sriram is a distinguished endocrinologist and diabetologist with over 42 years of experience. She has practiced both in the United States and India, holding significant positions such as the Head of the Department of Diabetes and Endocrinology at Voluntary Health Services (VHS) Hospital in Chennai. Her areas of expertise include diabetes, thyroid disorders, pituitary disorders, and metabolic bone diseases.

Dr. Sriram has been actively involved in clinical research, serving as the principal investigator for numerous trials focusing on osteoporosis, diabetes, and pediatric endocrinology. Notably, she was part of the global scientific advisory board for Pfizer's osteoporosis PEARL study and has contributed to studies on emerging therapies for osteoporosis, including work on lasofoxifene, arzoxifene, denosumab, parathyroid hormone, cathepsin K inhibitors, and sclerostin inhibitors.

Dr Usha has been practising in Chennai, India and is a renowned speaker in many conferences. She plays an active role in capacity building of physicians and in community education programs. Her achievements as a physician are not limited to a successful clinical practice but includes significant contributions to research activities in the areas of osteoporosis, diabetes, paediatric endocrinology in addition to her own initiatives on gestational diabetes, osteoporosis, childhood obesity and polycystic ovary syndrome
